Laurie's Kitchen Soups and Dips are Going All Natural

DECEMBER15, 2008, KANSAS CITY, Mo.: Old World Spices & Seasonings will debut its all-natural Laurie’s Kitchen™ gourmet soup mixes in January at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco and at the AmericasMart in Atlanta. “Our ten soup flavors are fantastic, and now our labels will please even the most discerning shoppers,” says Beth Benteman, Laurie’s Kitchen™ brand manager. The entire Laurie’s Kitchen™ dip-mix line also has been upgraded to all natural. These revisions complete Old World’s natural focus that began with the launch of its natural entrée sauce-mix line early this year
“Our goal in 2008 was to create recipes that contain no artificial colors, artificial flavors, monosodium glutamate or trans-fat,” says Benteman.
Soup flavors, in order of popularity, include:
  • Baked Potato
  • Cheddar Broccoli
  • White Cheddar Potato
  • Enchilada con Queso
  • Kansas City Steak
  • Hearty Chicken
  • White Cheddar Asparagus
  • Creamy Chicken & Wild Rice
  • Pasta Fajioli
  • Cheddar Pepper

Dip flavors, in order of popularity, include:
·        Bacon Cheddar
·        Roasted Pepper
·        Cucumber Dill
·        Spinach Artichoke
·        Sesame Garlic
·        Sundried Tomato Pesto
·        Chipotle Chile
·        Guacamole

“It was an important investment for us to update and reprint all our packaging,” Benteman says. “We have added a bold “Natural” banner across the flavor panel on the front of each box to grab shoppers’ attention.”
Old World is making substantial investments in its booths at both the Winter Fancy Food Show, January 18-20, 2008, and at the AmericasMart-Atlanta, January 6-14, 2008, to support the natural offerings in its Laurie’s Kitchen™ line.
Old World’s Fancy Food Show booth, #2410, comprises 40 feet of sampling space featuring corporate chef Jere Bahner, who created the Laurie’s Kitchen™ line and supervised the all-natural revisions. Bahner will be preparing all-natural entrees including Barbeque Shrimp Enchiladas, and Peppers and Sausage Puttanesca, among others.
In Atlanta, Old World’s showroom is #892-B, adjacent the professional cooking-demonstration area in the show’s new culinary center. The culinary center is located on the eighth floor of the West Wing of Building Two.
“Having a larger presence at these two important shows,” says Benteman, “helps demonstrate Old World’s commitment to the independent-gourmet customers and upscale specialty-food chains that have made Laurie’s Kitchen™ so successful.”
