Laurie’s Meatball Grinders ala Puttanesca
Ingredients:
- 1 (1.4 oz) packet Laurie’s Kitchen™ Puttanesca Sauce Mix
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 lb. frozen Italian style meatballs
- 6 hoagie or deli buns
- 12 slices provolone or mozzarella cheese (or 2-cups shredded)
Directions:
- Preheat broiler to low setting.
- In a medium size saucepan, stir Laurie’s Kitchen™ Puttanesca Sauce Mix into the crushed tomatoes.
- Add meatballs and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce heat to low and cover.
- Simmer 20 minutes, stirring often.
- While meatballs are heating, toast buns under broiler.
- Remove and place 2 slices of cheese to cover bun.
- Melt under broiler until bubbly.
- Divide meatballs and Puttanesca sauce onto buns.
- Serve immediately with plenty of napkins. (serves 4-6)
